It's come to my attention that many of you have been experiencing slow load times on the forums. We are working to resolve this issue and would appreciate as much info as you can provide to help us understand the causes of the slow loading times.

Please send me a PM if you are experiencing slow load times on the forums with this information

·         Has this just started happening (i.e. was it working fine for a time after the launch or did it start when the new board was launched)? If so, when?

·         Are you  noticing slow load times at certain times of day more than others?

·         Is it just the add post page that is slow, or are there other pages that are loading slowly as well?

·         Where are you located? Are you in UK or somewhere else overseas?

·         What browser versions (e.g. Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox 1.0 or 2.0, etc) and operating systems (e.g. Windows XP, Mac OS, etc.) are you using?

Well, I have noticed this at times, but I must admit that I had put it down to my computer!, it is happening on other sites too, at least to me anyway.

If it's happening on other sites it is likely your computer. I am looking for feedback from anyone who is having speed issues specifically with this sites forum.

I have noticed a problem when moving about the site, the problem seems to be in moving from one forum, say the help forum, to another forum within the site. I will click the forum I want but then nothing happens. I try to wait patiently but sometimes it takes two or three clicks to get around.

For me- it's when I click  the reply button.  can you believe this time it loaded up in one hit?

Click and - the window and the tool bar appeared  ready made. i was all ready to time it.

Usually the window appears- I  can begin to type but no text appears.- but then the tool bars load up. I get a little progress report - with a countdown saying- 75 items loading- that counts down- then it begins again.

I'll time it next time I post. I have windows XP- and use internet explorer.

I've had the very slow reply post window right from the beginning- even when we were trialling the site.

I've not had problems moving from thread to thread.

I check the posts I've not read  when I come on line from Posts You've not read page. the forums are my default page and I'm automatically logged on when I open Explorer.

I'm still looking for feedback. I have had very few responses about this issue which would lead me to believe that this is an isolated incident. If you have not contacted me about speed being an issue for you but you are finding that the board is moving slow then it's in your best interest to make sure that this is brought to my attentionon an individual basis. Please PM me with any problems you are experiencing.
