    April is Autism Awareness Month

April is World Autism Awareness Month, with many different events taking place to help raise awareness and understanding of this fast growing, yet little understood group of conditions, that can have devastating effects on children and their families.

As the campaign rightly says: Autism Speaks, it's time to listen.

Together we can make a difference and take steps towards finding the answers needed. Every child deserves to the chance to shine brightly in the world, lets do all we can to help them do so.

As part of World Autism Month, US car maker Chevrolet are offering web users the chance to help make a difference. Every time someone watches the video about their new "Malibu" range, the company will donate to Autism Speaks.

It's a simple, painless procedure that takes only a few minutes to do, yet it could make a world of difference to families afflicted by Autism.

    Thank you! Smile

Thanks Sparkle, I appreciate your support and kind words greatly. Autism is a subject very close to my heart, so I'll do any and every thing I can to help make a difference!

Welcome to the board and the wonderful world of Amici by the way, as I don't think I got chance to say hello when you first joined. Lovely to have you here and I look forward to getting to know you and of course discussing beautiful music too!

    Best wishes......Jo x

    Thanks...and Hi back. Smile

I'm really enjoying the board - everyone seems really lovely. Though I'm sure Amici have only the very best supporters. I'm a little too addicted to the daily trivia though. We may have to set up some sort of support group for me. lol

Good luck with the awareness apeal. I've told some people about the site today, and will continue to do so over the week.

Have a nice night...or day ( I lose track of who's on what time here )

Re: April is Autism Awareness Month

Thanks, Jo.  I know Geoff and Simone are doing wonderful things for awareness, as are you, my dear!

My Rejoicing Spirits group is trying to line up something with the local Boys and Girls club to go over and do something with the autistic kids that attend the club.  In the early stages yet, but maybe a volleyball game and a short worship service.  (Rejoicing Spirits is a monthly worship service we hold at my church for developmentally disabled children and adults.) Wish me luck!

Good luck with spreading the word, Jo and passing the info along - I will be glad to help you out!

I will carry you, be your strength, pull you through.
