How do I access my profile?
When you are logged in and in the Community
section of the site, your login name should appear as a link in the upper
right-hand corner. Click on it and it will take you to your profile page. Use
can also use the "My Profile" shortcut located under the
"Shortcuts" menu on the main Board page.
How do I set my avatar?
Go into your profile and click on the tab
marked "Avatar." The AmiciForever.com Forum does NOT come with
preloaded avatars. You will need to use an image that is saved to your
computer. To add this image, click on the "Browse" button and locate
the image you want to use as your avatar. Then click on "Update" and
"Save Changes." It will take a few minutes for your avatar to appear.
Be sure to click off "Yes" beside
"Enable Avatar." If you don't do this, people won't be able to see
your avatar.
How do I add a signature?
Go to your profile. You will see a tab called
"Signature and Bio." In there is a box where you can enter your
signature.
How do I add in a link?
Type in the words you want linked and
highlight them. Then click on the button that looks like a paperclip (the
"Insert/Edit Link" button). A little box will appear. Add in the
complete URL address (including the http://
page) and if you want, make the link open in a new window open. You can also
add in a title. This will not appear in any visible location but is used by
programs for the visually impaired. Click on "Insert" and there's
your link.
How do I post a picture?
The first step to posting a picture is to get
the URL address of the picture you want to post. If the picture is already on
the Internet, locate it and then click on it using the right mouse button. Then
click on "Properties." This will bring up a box. Find the
"Address" line. If this line is a URL address and contains the word
"images" or "photos" or something similar, cut and paste
it.
If the picture you want to post is not on the
Internet, you need to create a URL address for it by posting on a site like
Photobucket [http://www.photobucket.com/].
Once you have the URL address, start a new
post and then click on the button that has an image of a tree on it. A little
box will pop up. Fill in at minimum the "Image URL" line. You can fill
in the other fields if you want. Click "Insert" and you're done!
I am a Safari user and I can't seem
to start a thread or post. Can you please help me?
As a Safari user you are able to use the
Board but first you have to change the content editor. To do that, access your
profile (since next question if you don't know how to do that). Click on
the "Site Options" tab. Then change the "Content Editor" to
"DefaultTextEditor." Save your change and you should now be able to
post on the Board.
Sometimes there is a delay between
when I post a message and when it shows up on the Board. Why is that?
The reason that is happening is because your
computer is caching the old version of the Board. If you refresh, your page
should instantly become up-to-date.
Can I use BBcode on the Board? What about HTML?
No to the BBcode but yes to the HTML. To
access the HTML code, click on the button marked "HTML."
Why Was I/My Friend Banned?
Individuals are banned because that person
broke one of the rules. If you (or a friend) has been banned,

details by posting a message on the Board. Any such messages will be deleted.
Instead, please either PM one of the mods or send an email to help@amiciforever.com
And once banned, always banned. Anyone who has been banned is NOT welcomed back
on the Board and any new IDs they create will also be banned. If you suspect
that a banned person has returned to the Board, please alert the mods.
A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle.
