    Hi Magnolia

    Welcome to the forum.

I am disappointed for you that you were unable to see Amici because you did not know that they would be there.

I know that it not always the case that local newspapers/radio report on celebs visiting their areas as they may not know.

    Below written by pat

I know I should not take this personally, but it feels as if they are almost ashamed of us, perhaps we are too demanding, too noisy etc and they want a more sedate group of fans, more fitting to their music.   I do feel very hurt by this, and am seriously considering my position.   If we are not wanted then perhaps I should just fade into the background.

I know that we all have an opinion and can say what we like, but I feel that some of the things that has been said by pat (as a mod) are  a bit strong and out of order. You can not take it personally because it was not posted on the forum.

I thought good and hard about what I wrote but I just feel sometimes that some questions may be better asked of management(thanks Bev for the email to management) instead of being posted on the forum.

Yes I am dissapointed that we did not know about york it would have been magical to see, but lets move on and look forward to seeing Amici in the future.

Re: Lighting Up Time at york Minster

Thanks for the welcome folks - Its not a case that the light show hasn't been advertised - its been on national tv news!  Just not that Amici Forever would be singing on the opening night Confused

The light show is spectacular - when I go I will get some piccies and post them.  Sadly they wont have AF in them but you cannot have everything.

I have calmed down a bit after the disappointment of missing them last week.  Thinking about it it is possible that they didn't advertise AF as they wanted people to go for the lights and not the singersConfused  Makes sense when you think about it- still they could have had something on the official site about it.

    Take care everyone.

    Cheers

    Mags

    xx

Re: Lighting Up Time at york Minster

This may go some way to ease the hurt that some people have been experiencing.

I ha ve just received an email from David- who assures me that neither he nor Tsakane were anywhere near York and he'd not heard anything about this til now.

He's mystified and very interested to  hear who exactly was
behind this if there was actually a group calling
    themselves 'AF'.

He says to assure Pat and co that this was
absolutely not the 'real' Amici Forever -.

and that he has no doubt management will be in touch.

So now-   who the heck were those people singing- and what the heck did they call themselves- and did the article get it wrong??

Re: Lighting Up Time at york Minster

I've just sent an e mail to the publishers of the article - and one to a council officer from York Council- who was mentioned in the article  -  in the hope that someone might be able to clarify who actually performed.

Re: Lighting Up Time at york Minster

    Hello everyone,

Please allow me to confirm that Amici did not perform at the York Minister. While there have been few updates to the site in recent months, it has in no way been adandoned. We will continue to provide you news as we receive it and I can assure you that activity will ramp back up in conjunction with the group. I can appreciate that believing you've missed a performance would be extremely frustrating, but please believe that we wouldn't let that happen.

Re: Lighting Up Time at york Minster

Thank you Aaron, that is indeed good news, and I for one am grateful to know that I did not miss an Amici performance.   I am afraid that my thoughts went into overdrive at the weekend, and if my ranting upset anyone in any way, then I apologise most profusely.

I have also had an e-mail from Management who inform me that they are actively persuing enquiries to ascertain exactly what has happened in York, and I am sure we will have answers very soon.

Thanks also go to Bev for the many e-mails she has sent to various parties to try and get an explanation of why this mis-information was published.

Thanks for your message Aaron- I've had an email from management assuring me of the same sentiments - and that they are looking into the report from York-  and trying to get some clarification.

Re: Lighting Up Time at york Minster

    Hi Everyone

I've received a response from the website where the article was posted- regarding the mention of Amici forever.

I've forwarded it onto Amici's management for their information and follow up.

    Bev,

I apologise for any distress caused. There appeared to be some confusion over the group's name at the actual event, and as this was a story written late in the evening for the following morning's copy, I couldn't make contact with the actual group who performed to clarify.
I was told at the event that they were called Amici. After looking in our archive and on the internet, I came across the names Amici Forever and Amici vocal group. I came to the conclusion these two groups were one and the same.
I have absolutely no experience of, or interest in, operatic music, so I had no personal knowledge to draw on.
I would be interested to know whether you are aware of Amici vocal group. Often people are laches when it come to the proper names of groups/bands, and I thought this formulation was one and the same as Amici Forever, without due care applied "

So much for due diligence and accurate reporting and fact checking.

Let's hope next time there's a Michael Jagger performing  somewhere- he's not billed as Mick Jagger!!

Could be a shock for some- if they part with their hard earned readies..... what you see ain't what you get!!!

Re: Lighting Up Time at york Minster

Hmmm, seems to me this is one to discuss with Mikey!  One of the arguments form Patents Attorneys trying to get people to drop their names  is that the names are so similar it causes confusion. And here is the case in point!  Interesting.Confused

    Hi everyone

Just returned from holiday and read the fun over the 'non appearance' at York Minster.  I live near York, and this sort of wrong information is pretty typical of the local press here.  Whether or not the Council were involved I am not sure, but they like the newspaper are renowned for mistakes.

Re: Lighting Up Time at york Minster

    Hi Paul

Hope you had a good holiday, knowing you Joy I am sure you did!!

This a puzzler and it sure set me off 'on one' so to speak, I tend to be relatively matter of fact these days, but the thought of missing our Amici forever was just one thing too many!!

It seems a long time since Eastbourne, but we were luckier than most!!

    Love xx
