Just wait and let me check my video rental place tonight.  We have a great DVD burner so I could do copies for everyone.  Don't you have a DVD player Bev??

I've checked my video store and they have a copy on DVD but it's out until Saturday 14th, but I can order it and get copies for those who need one.  Email me your address.

In the meantime, maybe we can look at another movie title.

Yep- Cherri- I have a dvd player and a dvd recorder-   and was going to copy my tape of Immortal Beloved- for others-  but my video tape of the movie has copy protection.

(The dvd of Immortal Beloved is no longer available in Oz  on sell through- which is what ceedee was looking for)

Does your dvd burner overwrite copy protection Cherri?  Because I'm wondering if the dvd may  have copy protection as well.

I think ceedee is checking out 'Impromptu' as well -  details posted above in a previous post.

I'll probably not get a chance to watch anything 'til the weekend and after  now-  so if you can get  copies to people that would be good. I'd not mind a dvd copy in case my tape gets chewed..Big Smile.

I have not seen the film, but I surely will. Gary Oldman is one of, if not the, most versatile actors there's I've ever seen. He's successfully played Dracula and Sid Vicious, Lee Harvey Oswald and a guest star on Friends. What range! He's great.

There is also a copy of Immortal Beloved available on Ebay UK - Region 2 - do you want me to buy this and send it?, or see if I can make copies.   It closes UK time Wednesday morning.

I totally agree Bel!  I always know when I'm watching Gary Oldman because I think to myself "Who is that guy, he's really, really good?!"

    Confused

    Oh Yeah, it's Gary Oldman

     Oh yeah, Gary Oldman

    Isn't THAT?  Nope.  Gary Oldman

Now THAT is definately Roger Moore!

    But that's Oldman.

Thanks Pat, will check them out. It doesn't take long to get stuff over from the UK because I got a book from Amazon and it only took just over a week so it might be the go if I can't rent it.

    Re: FILM BUFF'S COFFEE LOUNGE

I agree absolutely classic and Bellaria.

Gary Oldman is a fantastic actor- one of my favourites. I love the fact he's  quite a chameleon- he just gets inside the character and becomes them.

But lately- he just seems to be making films that cast him as the 'intelligent' villain- pitting his wits againts a blockbuster star.

I wish he could do some more roles like his earlier ones.

But  maybe they're not making films like they used to??

ceedee- I got my own video copy years ago- because I asked the library if they'd be prepared to sell it to me-  which they did.

Whether there's a big chain around that might be prepared to do that is a possibility as well.

I know---sorry---- I really have a love of alternate- independent films.

But these days it's amazing how many of my favourites are turning up on dvds.

    Re: FILM BUFF'S COFFEE LOUNGE

    Which one was that ceedee?

I could bring a copy of Impromptu ( if I can copy it..) to Sydney.Or I can give you my video copy if you have a video player still.

I'm so disappointed that Immortal Beloved isn't available- as that really is a ripper of a film.
