A friend sent me some YouTube versions of Hallelujah- which sent me off to look for Damien Leith's version from Oz Idol.

There's other clips from the oz Idol show- and I just wanted to share Damien's beautiful voice and talent with people who may not have seen the show.

I'd forgotten how much his singing moved me- from shivers down my back- to the overwhelming feeling that I want to cry- much like the effect Amici have on me.


I'll be buying his Idol Journey cd/dvd with these songs on it tomorrow.

he sang. I never watch American Idol so I had never heard of him before.
He would make one heck of a great lyric tenor with some training. He did Nessum Dorma quite well and held the last note on it for a good bit. I am now a Maksim fan big time. In fact, I have gotten all of his cd's and also his
two dvd concert's. Another one you told me about and I really liked his style of playing the piano. He is definitely a genious with that keyboard. Hope all is well in OZ with all the ammi's. So looking forward to a cd by Amici. I have no doubt that David will find another soprano to fill in where Jo was. Did a great job with locating Bruno, so I believe he will find someone soon to fill the spot. You take care and don't wear yourself out by

He's the Australian Idol- and he does have a beautiful voice.

It makes you wonder how he could develop were he to have some operatic voice training.

I think you're right Bev - he has done a magnificent job and I've bought his "Journey so Far" album and really love it. I've driven Wayne mad playing it all the time. I think it's great that Sony BMG are playing their cards a little differently for him and letting him have a little more input into his first real album rather than just bang something out straight away like they have done previously.

One thing I just love about Damien is his humility and that fact that whenever he got anything on the show like a 'touch down' or huge praises, he was stunned. The look on his face when they announced he was Australian Idol was priceless. I'm sure he's going to do really well out of this. Good luck to him too.

I'm hoping to get to one of the ones in Sydney at Star City Casino.. but am having trouble finding someone to come with me. Sigh.. since Emma said no. :( :lol:
