    Re: BLAKE

I got an e-mail last week from a friend on MySpace and I listened - very nice sound.  Thought they were more "finished' than Il Divo.  I mean no offense to Il Divo, but sometimes I don't think their voices have the blend that Amici does.

But yes, I did like Blake and I hope the CD gets over here, too, Ceedee!

    Re: BLAKE

Thanks for bringing this group to my attention. Wow...I like their sound! I also agree that they sound much more polished than Il Divo. Blake sing as an ensemble...I find the members of Divo all sing as soloists (espcially one of them; he just doesn't seem to want to blend in).

I have always felt that Amici Forever was head and shoulders above Il Divo in all respects and even Blake now for that matter. It seems that in order for the general public to help launch a group's career, they must be backed by either Simon Cowell or David Foster. Careers seem to soar with their backing regardless of their abilities. Now this isn't true of Blake, but let's see how far they go.

Now please don't get me wrong. The performers are ALL talented musicians BUT I don't think Amici ever got a fair shake at the market. I tried to get a Canadian Magazine to do an article on them. Sent a copy of the first CD, pestered them over and over again. My calls, emails and letters were never acknowledged which was a pity because "Whisper of Angels" is an arrangement by Canadian Amy Sky, which I pointed out to them. That could have even been their lead-in for the interview. I think if they had been discovered by Cowell or Foster, Amici would have had an even more successful career.

These are just my thoughts and please don't be offended by any of this. As I said, they're all tremendous musicians but I feel Amici has been short-changed by a public that will only accept a group if it's been endorsed by a celebrity. Amici Forever could easily have toured with Barbara Streisand instead of Divo. I anxiously await Amici's next CD.

Very well put David, I am sure we would all agree 100 per cent with all that you have said, and yes, it will be interesting to see how BLAKE get on.

    Re: BLAKE

    Two words: Rachel Ray

I don't know if she's international or just in the US, but she's huge in the US with her own talk show. Amici just needs to get on Rachel Ray and they'll sky rocket! And be Beer well-fed!Pizza

But Blake sounds wonderful! I joined their facebook group, which is weird that they all met on facebook... technology!

I like the album very much, I find it very relaxing.

I had the pleasure of hearing them and meeting them at the BBC Young chorister of the Year they sang 4 songs , they were great.

    Hi  Mary

Yes, I noticed your pictures on the Blake website, you were indeed lucky, I like it when you get to see something like that as a surprise, I remember seeing the Paul O Grady show and his guest was Sir Roger Moore, and I have been a fan since The Saint, so that was great to meet him at last.

I'm guessing that Blake will have great success with their debut Album, it is great.

     You saw Alan Titchmarsh????

I LOVE ALAN TITCHMARSH  !!!   Loved him on Ground Force and that other gardening show he did- then for a while we saw him on  a contemporary Antiques Roadshow.

What's he doing now?- And I hope we get to see it in OZ!!!

    Re: BLAKE

    Hi Bev

Alan Titchmarsh is doing more TV presenting these days.   He actually has a home here on the Isle of Wight, and is probably going to be our next High Sheriff of the Island.
