    Concert for Diana

    Hello fellow Ammiratori!

Did anyone here go to the Concert for Diana? It looked like an incredible event from the television footage I saw.

    Re: Concert for Diana

It was indeed a wonderful event, sadly my accident meant I was unable to attend.   The best part for me was the ballet and the Andrew Lloyd Webber Musicals section with Josh and Sarah, Lee, Donny and Jason, Andrea Bocelli and others.

I heard Josh and Sarah Brightman were amazing!  I missed it too, I was pretty busy all of Sunday.  What a lovely thing to do for such a wonderful person.

    Re: Concert for Diana

Yes they only sang one song.  I thought Josh did a fabulous job despite Sarah's warbling.  I wanted to strangle her.  Pity he didn't sing with someone like Katherine Jenkins or our Jo instead!!  Can just see Josh as the Phantom in a few years time - his voice really lended to the role.

I think they cut quite a bit out of the Oz televise but I think they will probably bring it out on DVD to raise more money.  They'd be crazy if they didn't!!

Thanks for the link - I got to see it!!!  Yes, he just gets better and better, but I too, was not happy with Sarah's performance.  Josh looked "yummy" as well ;)

    Re: Concert for Diana

We were so lucky in the UK to have the whole show televised live.   I will try and find some links later.

For those with Cable- Foxtel/Austar -  Fox8 is showing the Concert for Diana tonight. Thursday 5/7/07

9.30pm to 2.45 am -   that's 5 and a quarter hours-  that would have to be the whole show?

Then it is re-aired on Fox8+2  starting at 11.30pm.

I might watch the first 3 hours - then set the tape for the last 2+ hours.

    Re: Concert for Diana

I have to admit I kept dipping in and out waiting for the Andrew Lloyd Weber bit as I knew Josh, Donny and Lee were going to be on it.

I enjoyed the ballet as well.

Poor Josh - why do they keep making him sing with these awful women?

    Re: Concert for Diana

I still love his version of "The Prayer" with Angie Stone best.   Had more heart in it.

I have Sarah Brightman's La Luna DVD and Josh sings (and dances) with her.  Lovely song, and he is sooo young and sweet in it.  Just seems a bit odd as she is even older than me, and there she is singing a romantic song and dancing with a young boy, (well, he was then!)

    Re: Concert for Diana

I have to say that I am not a Sarah fan also, but, I did see her in 'oridinary' mode at an Amici Concert (she was in the audience!) and she looked so much better than when she is all dressed up - most inappropriately I feel, on stage.

    Re: Concert for Diana

Bev - sounds like the whole show - 4pm to 10.15pm in the UK

Lots of videos of 'Diana and me' some of which where heartbreaking as the people were guests of William & Harry.

I think my favourite was a bodyguard who went to Alton Towers with them. Diano insisted they be treated like everyone else queueing (sp?) for rides and at one a deaf child was in front of them. His mum signed that if he looked behind he would see her and when he did she signed a 'hello' to him.

    Enjoy

    Re: Concert for Diana

Wern't those family home movies precious at the end, I don't think anyone was expecting that - the general opinion was that Elton was going to sing 'Englands' Rose' at the end, but he kept his word from the funeral when he said he would NEVER sing that again - I for one am glad he did not.
