Tsakane Valentine (Soprano)
Soprano Tsakane Valentine was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and cut her teeth on the rich a capella choral traditions of her home country. She studied music at Pretoria University. Tsakane continued her operatic training at the Pretoria Technikon (University of Tshwane) where she quickly caught the attention of the country's leading music enthusiasts. She appeared in high profile recitals including performing for Nelson Mandela and Thabo Mbeki, and took the took the lead role of Maria in West Side Story for Spier Opera Company in Cape Town before joining Amici forever in London, UK.

Current favourite book- Don't have a fav book, but currently reading 'Girl With a One Track Mind by Abby Lee, which is a little bit saucy, so be warned if you’re thinking of picking it up!

Current favourite drink- A banana choc smoothie from a juice bar in Bond Street, London
Current favourite opera / composer? - Got a few favourites, at the moment I listen to Strauss' Salome a lot
Favourite thing about touring - Eating out in a different place nearly everyday
Least favourite thing about touring - Late travelling after a show when we've got another one the next day
Essential touring item - Body oil / lotion / moisturiser
What was your first pet and what was he / she called? - Mr spider
If you could swap places with any other member of a band, who would it be and why? - David or Bruno, just to see them have a go at putting on make up, heels and a corset in 15 mins!
If you could choose an animal, what would you be and why? - A panther, it's a wild and elegant animal with a beautiful colour.
What would people be most surprised to know about you? - That I sleep a lot
What is your most prized possession? - My DKNY dress
